About Us The story of Express

It started with an idea… EVERYONE is entitled to great design.

This simple idea got us to rethinking what an agency could be. We have created a unique studio built around the abilities of senior designers and programmers, with years of agency experience, allowing them to deal with the client; one-on-one.

This provides small businesses and individuals with access to professional design at an affordable price.

Nicole Perrin

Nicole Perrin: Brand Steward

Nicole can take your brand, see where it needs to go and show you the way to use visual communications to get there. For 7 years, Nicole has specialized in creative branding for companies and pulling all the pieces together in a large project, for nothing less than a fireworks end-product. Nicole loves a creative challenge. So bring her your design dilemma, and she’ll help you work through it. Some solutions are calm and subtle, others are edgy and push the limits. All make sure the audience notices, understands, connects and remembers the message.

Outside of work, Nicole loves to paint, draw and design jewelry.

Dennis Powers

Dennis Powers: Manager, Client Services

Dennis' career in media production, account management and client services spans 20 years. Audio, video, print, web, if you can you name a media channel or format he has probably worked with it. Dennis' professional passion is convergence and the media mix. He has a keen understanding of audience demographics and can assist clients with how best to reach their target audiences with their story in order to meet their marketing goals. In each project or campaign he is involved with, Dennis prides himself on understanding client expectations, communicating them to the design team and ensuring that they are met. Dennis provides clients with post-launch support by helping to measure results and demonstrating client return on investment.

Dennis enjoys biking, hiking and kayaking in his spare time. When not playing outside he can be found experiencing the amazing local fare produced by Okanagan farms, wineries and breweries with family and friends.

Bill Kellett

Bill Kellett: Brand Catalyst

Sure, as President of KELLETT Communications he’s the gateway to a wealth of marketing experience, but his value to you is to make change happen. Bill takes a distinctive approach when problem-solving and brainstorming with clients. He always looks for ways to create integrated tactics so clients can have a two-way conversation with their audience. Ultimately, Bill helps clients understand what their audience is communicating back to them and how they can tailor their messages to respond to these cues. This approach not only makes clients more effective in their communication efforts, but also draws the most out of the tactical media available. He always considers what needs to be accomplished and then asks the question, “How can it be done in a new and better way?”

Summertime at the family cottage, the tangible discovery of wine from around the world and Sunday morning soccer with my kids. And my wife; she rocks pretty hard too.

Holly Plante

Holly Plante: Creative Strategist

When it comes to marketing Holly thinks in strategy. Creating a winning strategy is different for every business, which is what makes Holly’s role essential before engaging in the creative process. She thrives on working with clients to create a clear picture based on target audience, budget, and timelines to ensure all objectives are achieved. Holly recognizes the importance of maintaining clear and open communication with clients and the creative team. These attributes have guided Holly through successfully branding of over 200 businesses.

Osoyoos is home to Holly and her husband Michael and daughter Hope. Holly also serves on the Board of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce, is a Rotarian, and is part of the Community Sustainability Action Team working to create a 25 year sustainability plan for the Town of Osoyoos.

Svea Brousseau

Svea Brousseau: Art Director, Web

Svea is passionate about the connection between great design and great storytelling. Her approach is based upon research, getting to know the client and their vision. She has spent the last 11 years directing and designing award-winning campaigns that engage audiences in a refreshing and innovative way. She has been an integral member of creative agencies such as Blast Radius, Communicopia, Cowie & Fox and Tribal DDB. Svea has studied new media, journalism and industrial design.

This mother of three has a fondness for the environment, photography, baking cookies and Okanagan wine.

Robin Marshall

Robin Marshall: Web Developer

Robin is a recent graduate of the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, with a BSc. majoring in computer science. She has been working and studying in the computing field for roughly a decade. Her work experience varies from research, software development, database design and development, and web development. Robin's approach to her work is problem: meet solution, and she won't quit until that goal is met.

When she is not chained to her computer, Robin enjoys activities in the great outdoors of British Colombia with friends, travel, being with family, and cooking.

This service was created to provide small businesses and individuals with access to professional design at an affordable price. Our team believes working with grassroots businesses, organizations and individuals is critical to keeping connected to our community. That’s why we’re doing this. Express Design is a one-to-one relationship between clients and our senior graphic designers and web developers.

This streamlined service includes:

  • Pre-project interview directly with the team member servicing you to ensure objectives, timelines and responsibilities are clear.
  • Provision of high-caliber technical services for graphic design or website programming.
  • Commencement of work immediately upon receipt of client-supplied content and high resolution photography.
  • Flat rate project fees, fully estimated and agreed to in advance, letting you work with us without fears of any extra charges.
  • Pre-payment of the project fees, keeping both sides motivated to complete the project efficiently and to mutual satisfaction.
  • Provision of all final working and production/launch ready files by electronic means, giving you full ownership and control over their use. Express Design does not manage printing or hosting but we can point you in the right direction.

No Rush Fees

There are no rush fees. Our service standard is to do whatever we can whenever we can. If the ad or project is feasible, we will accept it and work towards its completion.

Need a Full Service Agency? We do that too!

Because we’re a small studio, doesn’t mean we can’t deliver the full-service integrated campaigns of a traditional advertising agency. With the support of KELLETT Communications, we can offer Agency of Record clients all the services they require – brand stewardship, visual identity development, media planning and buying, print production management and website development/maintenance, just to name a few examples.

For Agency of Record clients, we offer one rate for the entire team, no hidden fees – everything based on $100/hr + 10% of any managed expenses.

Any given project, like any good business deal, needs to be win-win.

That’s why we put your perception of value foremost in our compensation agreement. This could mean results-based billing based on how many more widgets you sell. It can be working on a fixed budget based on what you have in your business plan. Or it can be based on the amount of time you need from us.
